Substitute for 3-5 lbs weights.?

I’m going to start following this http://www.marieclaire.com/print-this/health-fitness/news/articles/better-body but I don’t have any free weights and I won’t go to a gym. What can I use around my house instead of the weights? I have a resistance band so the 20 lbs weights won’t be a problem.

3-5lb weights have pretty much no effect on the human body; you might as well be using just the weight of your arms themselves. My advice: Don’t follow fad work out guides from garbage magazines like Marie Claire and go to a real gym.
