Why is the USA the last modernized country to come around in regards to health care and global warming?
Virtually every modern nation (and even a few third world countries) have something close to universal health care and have accepted that global warming exists.
Why is America behind the times and so ignorant as a whole in regards to these two issues? It really shouldn’t be a debate on either issue, yet these idiots still act with so much hate toward their opponents.
Why? lack of education? Corporations and lobbyists brainwashing? Fox News and the “echo chamber?”
What do you think the cause is?

It is hard to figure out what the major cause is … The far right lobbyists and corporations control FNC and then they brainwash people that aren’t necessarily the sharpest tools in the shed.
However, the question is … does FNC make people stupid or do stupid people watch FNC? its kinda a which came first the chicken or the egg thing.
It is sad that some of you still debate against global warming when your own ridiculous party is starting to HAVE TO admit it exists because of the MOUNTAIN of evidence that has accumulated. Just look at some Satellite images idiots … that’s all the proof you need. Oh yeah, they changed it from global warming to climate change because idiots out there like a few of the answerers aren’t smart enough to understand they are the same thing … simple middle school science explains the water cycle. Since it is OBVIOUSLY too hard for some of you to grasp … let me explain:
The earth heats up a few degrees (the whole earth not your back yard) thus causing more water to evaporate, which in turn causes more erratic weather like the record snowfalls in the NE USA this year. It isn’t rocket science.
And to argue against health care … seriously? You argument is profits vs. people and you are too immoral to choose the correct one.
