Second Opinions When It Comes To Military Health Care?

The other day I had an appointment at the clinic for chest pain and a few things that go with it. I received a medical diagnosis from my dip shit PCM that I am 100% unsure about:

Piercing chest pain, sometimes on the right, sometimes in the center + a light shortness of breath + a crushing feeling + a dull ache (on occasion) when I breathe = heartburn?

When it comes to the military health care system – Are military spouses allowed to seek second, even third opinions from other doctors if we are not satisfied or unsure about a diagnosis given by the assigned PCM?

How would I go about doing this?

I live in Germany, I don’t exactly want to go on the economy.

Another mil. doctors opinion or two is fine with me.

You can speak with the patient advocate and get another appointment with a different doc. You do have that right. Also, if you don’t like the care you are recieving from said PCM on a consistent basis then you can request a change of PCM. That said, you can only do that once. Ex… you request a change. Get new PCM. Don’t like him. Nothing you can do. However… you request a change. Get new PCM. He PCS’s or deploys and you are assigned a new PCM. Don’t like him… then you can request a change. Make sense?

Do go back and request a second opinion. I’ve had to do that a couple of times…. and both times I was justified and proven right.
